Choose Regular Style for the taller, deeply scalloped original AC and radio knobs shown in the product photos. Choose Thin Style for the lower-profile design. The two styles are not interchangeable. Your existing controls—not the country where you drive, or the model year alone—should determine the choice.
Prepared by JETT OFFROAD, an independent Jeep accessory shop. This article explains how to compare the two styles in our four-piece AC, radio and headlight knob cover listing. Check that listing for current options and fitment information.
What is the difference between Thin and Regular knob covers?
These names describe different cover profiles. They are not two levels of quality, and “Regular” does not mean it fits every Jeep. Each style needs to match the shape and height of the original knobs beneath it.
| Check | Regular Style | Thin Style |
|---|---|---|
| Original AC/radio knob profile | Taller profile | Lower profile |
| Photo reference | Deeply scalloped design shown in the listing | Shallow design shown in the listing |
| Selection method | Compare the actual control panel with the matching style photos | |
| Interchangeable? | No—do not substitute one style for the other | |

How to check your Jeep’s control panel
Start with a clear view of the original controls. A front-facing photo helps compare the overall layout; an angled photo can make knob height easier to see. Avoid relying on a cropped picture that hides the sides of the knobs.
- Confirm the vehicle: note the model and model year, then check the product’s current listed applications.
- Look at the AC and radio knobs: compare their height and outer shape with both style photo sets.
- Check every intended location: the listing contains three AC/radio covers and one headlight cover. Matching one dial does not establish the fit of every piece.
- Choose the style before the color: an appealing finish cannot correct a mismatched cover profile.
A model-year label is a useful starting point, but it does not replace a visual comparison. Do not assume a style fits because another owner has the same vehicle name or lives in the same region.
What should you check during installation?
Follow the instructions supplied with your covers; they take priority over this general guide. Work with the vehicle parked. Clean and dry the original knobs, identify the correct cover for each dial, and align it before fitting it gently.
Stop if a cover needs force to go on or does not sit as expected. Do not try to make a different profile fit by pressing harder. After fitting, check that each control turns freely and that any push-button function works without interference.
Common fitment questions
Should I choose Regular because my Jeep is in North America?
No. Location does not confirm knob shape. Compare your actual AC and radio controls with the listing photos, even if a particular style is popular with other owners.
Can I use the Thin cover if the Regular cover looks too tall?
Not as a shortcut. The profiles fit different original designs. Confirm the original knob shape rather than judging only how the cover looks in isolation.
